Bookmark key moments during video instruction

When you're conducting lessons all day it's necessary to take notes so you can efficiently review the lesson after it's done.

Use the Grain notepad to timestamp key moments of the call and utilize reactions (emojis) to quickly mark important moments while remaining focused on the lesson at hand.

Helpful Tip! If you want to hide other meeting participants from viewing your notepad during calls, toggle on “Hide Grain from Screen Capture” in the App settings of your Desktop Preferences.

Highlight instructional moments you want to recall

Create highlights directly on calls in the Grain live notepad by clicking the Highlighter button on the right. To manually create a highlight once the call has imported into Grain, simply highlight the text in the transcript and click 'Create Highlight'.

Share highlights or full recording of instruction with your whole class

To share a highlight, simply click the "Copy Highlight Link" button in the top right corner of the Highlight, and paste this link to share it. This is a public link that you can share with anyone, and they will see the selected clip, title of the highlight, and recording name.

To share a full recording, click the Share button in the top right corner of the recording. You can share with students by email and they will get a link with the entire recording, transcript, and notes taken during the lesson.

Transcribe video instruction for readers

Meetings where Grain was actively on, or recordings uploaded to Grain in the Unimported Recordings section, will automatically be transcribed in the Grain web app.

Download the transcript as a PDF and send to students for a visual summary of the lesson. You can download the transcript by clicking on the three vertical dots on the upper left side of the recording, and selecting "Download Transcript".

Grain also supports transcription to multiple languages, including German, Spanish, French, and Portuguese.
